Romelu Lukaku drew level with Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of the World Cup goalscoring charts on Saturday, scoring twice as Belgium moved to the brink of the last 16 after a 5-2 romp against Tunisia. England, meanwhile, would seal their own qualification for the last 16 by beating Panama.

Not to be outdone, Belgium captain Eden Hazard scored in either half, including an early penalty at the Spartak Stadium, before substitute Michy Batshuayi added their fifth.

Khazri and Dylan Broon scored for Tunisia but it was not enough as they were eliminated from the tournament.

The full-back's late challenge on Hazard was deemed, with the use of VAR, to have been just inside the area and the Chelsea man stepped up to crack the resulting spot-kick into the bottom-left corner.

After racking up two wins and a goal difference of plus-six Belgium are virtually assured of advancing but it is not yet guaranteed - and they will be aware that they will need to tighten up at the back to handle the threat of the big guns deeper into the tournament.

With half-time approaching, the Belgians grabbed their third goal.

And Hazard doubled his total in the 51st minute, scoring on an open net after he ran under a pass from Toby Alderweireld and worked his way around goalkeeper Farouk Ben Mustapha before finishing.

Only in the 90th minute, after Youri Tielemans found him in the box, did Batshuayi tally his first World Cup goal, and Khazri answered in the 93rd minute, moments before the full-time whistle.
