"Te Aroha was our way of reflecting the amount of love this baby has been shown before she arrived and all of the names we were gifted along the way".
"We're not placing any great expectations on this little baby, except happiness and love", she said.
Ardern on Thursday became just the second elected world leader to give birth while holding office. Pakistan's Benazir Bhutto gave birth while she was prime minister in 1990.
"Clarke's been as much of a role model here as I am, and that's something that I think a lot of people talk about too and it's true", Ardern said.

"We chose Neve because we just liked it. Sleep deprived, but super well", she said.
Support also flooded in from around the world, with Britain's Queen Elizabeth, whom Ardern met in London in April, sending an emailed message of congratulations and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeting at Ardern: "Pro tip, Jacinda: Briefing notes make excellent bed time stories".
"I hope for little girls and boys there's a future where they can make choices about how they raise their family and what kind of career they have based on what they want".
