On Thursday, investigators once again searched fields and ditches near Brooklyn, Iowa, where the 20-year-old vanished more than two weeks ago.

Kevin Winker, director of investigative operations at the Iowa Department of Public Safety, refused to say whether they've identified any suspects in the ongoing case.

Iowa authorities were mum Friday on details of their investigation into missing college student Mollie Tibbetts - but said they have a "solid timeline" of her disappearance.

And the family's plea now comes with a large reward: $172,000 for information leading to Tibbetts' safe return, the family announced Thursday. She was reported missing on July 19 when she failed to show up for work, according to reporting in the Des Moines Register. Mollie Tibbetts' mother pleaded for anyone who may have abducted her daughter to let her go and said anyone with information on the case can come forward anonymously.

However, police said later Wednesday that the sighting "has been ruled out". "Sometimes I just feel her sitting on my shoulder", said Laura Calderwood.

Tipsters can call Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa at 800-452-1111 or 515-223-1400. Investigators are still trying to determine why she disappeared. When police received the tip, they conducted a search of the area, spoke with witnesses, reviewed any potential surveillance video and then sent a report to the task force investigating Tibbetts' disappearance. He said he believes there is someone out there who is withholding information, either because they think it's too trivial or because they are anxious it will incriminate a loved one.

"It is our greatest hope that if someone has her that they would just release her and claim that money that we have raised for her freedom".

Investigators have been looking at various data, including social media and information from a Fitbit that Tibbetts is known to have used.
