Kensington Palace has released the picture fronting Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Christmas card this year, too.

Royal biographer Christopher Wilson suggested Christmas Day would be hard for 36-year-old Kate, who will be spending the day at Sandringham with Prince William, 36 and their three children: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and seven-month-old Prince Louis.

Rather than a themed photo, the royals usually chose a previously unreleased portrait taken within the past year to share as their Christmas card.

The card is quite the milestone in their life as a married couple since it's the very first and they both love Christmas. The three-year-old princess looks sweet as can be in a blue sweater and denim skirt, while George - in an energetic stance! - wears grey jeans, a green sweater and rubber boots.

A royal source said: "Kate had only just given birth to Prince Louis and was feeling quite emotional".

The Cambridge family have opted for a family photograph shot by Matt Porteus in the countryside around their Norfolk home.

They will then spend Christmas day with her Majesty at Sandringham Estate, along with Prince Harry, 34, Meghan, 37, and the Queen's children and grandchildren.

Royal fans have been unable to contain their glee at the sweet family photos.

Soon after, a sweet image of first-in-line Prince Charles and wife Camilla was also uploaded.

Earlier reports had also suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would stay at the Cambridge's Norfolk home over Christmas, like past year.
