Trump says Cohen hearing may have hurt North Korea results

Trump abruptly cut short his meeting with Kim in Hanoi last week after the two leaders were unable to reach a deal to dismantle Pyongyang's nuclear weapons.

The meetings are to take place Tuesday through Thursday in Washington. Who do you think will believe that lie? It is unknown whether Kim Jong-un included the Boonkang site for his deal with Trump.

Early in the summit, Trump dismissed concerns that Kim was involved in the brutal treatment and death of American citizen Otto Warmbier.

The Kim-Trump summit broke down mainly because of disputes over the extent of sanctions relief the North could win in return for its nuclear disarmament steps.

"The president is fully prepared to keep negotiating at lower levels or to speak to Kim Jong Un again when it's appropriate", he said.

Some, including columnist Henry Olsen, believed the summit actually showcased Trump's strength.

The South Korean diplomat met with reporters at Incheon International Airport and said he plans to meet with USA special representative for North Korea Biegun and other members of the Trump administration.

Rejecting it out of hand shows that Trump was serious in this instance. Given the site has lain dormant for months, Bermudez believes the work probably took place after February 28, when the Trump-Kim summit concluded unsuccessfully.

This in turn will bolster, not diminish, his popular standing at home.

Opponents of scrapping the drills warn that it could affect the combat readiness of US and South Korean forces and hand the North a strategic advantage on the divided peninsula.

"I don't agree at all that it was a failed summit", Bolton said on "Fox News Sunday".

Rogers didn't think the North Korea summit went well for the USA and that Trump made a mistake in his negotiation tactics because he has such a hard stance.

"Look, the president made it very clear he considers what happened to Otto Warmbier an act of brutality that's completely unacceptable to the American side", Bolton told CNN host Jake Tapper on Sunday.

"The prospect for success seemed dim in light of the insincerity of Kim Jong Un", Pelosi said.

"He's not desperate for a deal, not with North Korea, not with anybody if it's contrary to American national interests", Bolton said.

When pressed by "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan on whether he agreed with the president's actions, Bolton repeated that with the president's opinion that the summit was not a failure. "I wasn't able to watch too much because I've been a little bit busy, but I think having a fake hearing like that and having it in the middle of this very important summit is really a bad thing".

Suh Hoon, left, director of the National Intelligence Service, and Noh Young-min, right, the presidential chief of staff, talk in whispers on Monday before a plenary session of the National Security Office at the Blue House begins. Schiff said on CBS that the president should have taken a stronger stance against Kim.

"This is, I think, the result of a president who is not prepared for these kind of negotiations, a staff that is not well-prepared and that is essentially flying by the seat of its trousers, and it has real-world consequences", Schiff said. "I said, 'Can you close it up?' He's going to close it up".
